MDCT pulmonary angiography enables detailed visualization of pulmonary arteries and their branches, providing a clear picture of the state of blood flow inside the lungs. This method is fast, efficient and very reliable, which makes it a key tool in the diagnosis and assessment of various lung conditions. Through this technique, doctors can quickly and accurately identify problems that require immediate medical intervention, thereby improving the patient's prognosis and reducing the risk of complications.

The procedure begins with placing the patient on the scanner table. Before imaging, an intravenous contrast agent is given to the patient to improve the visibility of the pulmonary arteries on the images. During the recording, the patient will be asked to hold his breath for a few seconds, which allows for clearer images. The recording itself takes a few minutes, and the entire procedure, including preparation and explanation, usually lasts between 20 and 30 minutes. This technique is used to identify and evaluate various conditions of the pulmonary arteries, especially in cases of suspected pulmonary embolism. Rapid diagnosis is essential because pulmonary embolism can be a life-threatening condition.
