12-hour daily nursing home care allows patients to receive continuous medical care during the day, while in their own home. This form of care provides appropriate assistance for patients with chronic illnesses, post-operative recovery or those who require assistance with daily activities. The nurse is responsible for monitoring the patient's health, administering therapy and providing basic medical services.
During the 12-hour daily duty, nurses perform:
Monitoring of vital functions - Measurement of temperature, pressure, pulse and breathing, as well as control of sugar levels in diabetics, in order to observe changes in the state of health.
Administration of therapy - administration of drugs, injections and infusions according to the doctor's instructions, as well as preparation for the next treatment.
Assistance in daily activities – Providing assistance in feeding, bathing, dressing, dressing wounds and maintaining the patient's personal hygiene.
Physical rehabilitation - Help with physical exercises, walking or rehabilitation treatments to maintain mobility and prevent complications.
Emotional Support - Talking, encouraging social interaction and providing emotional support to patients and their families, especially in the case of long-term recovery or terminal illness.
The 12-hour on-call usually lasts during daylight hours, providing patients with the medical care they need when they need it most, while at night they may be provided with other forms of assistance or reduced care. This on-call model allows for a high level of attention throughout the day, with flexibility in relation to the patient's needs.
