Rheumatoid Arthritis – Diagnosis, Treatment and Monitoring: Eliksir Center ✓

A specialist examination is intended for patients with suspected **rheumatoid arthritis (RA)** – a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease that most commonly affects the small joints of the hands and feet.

The disease is characterized by:

• morning stiffness lasting more than 30 minutes
• symmetric joint pain and swelling
• fatigue and general weakness

The goal of the examination is early diagnosis, as timely initiation of therapy significantly slows disease progression and prevents permanent joint damage.

The examination includes a detailed medical history focusing on the duration of symptoms, morning stiffness, and joint involvement.

A clinical assessment of small and large joints is performed, evaluating pain, swelling, and functional status.

Laboratory tests are analyzed (RF, anti-CCP, CRP, ESR), and if needed, joint ultrasound or additional diagnostics may be recommended.

Based on the findings, an individualized treatment plan is defined, which may include DMARDs, biologic therapy, corticosteroids, and a schedule for regular follow-up.
